the Americans's transgressions have been relatively mild compared against the greeks, romans, mongols, french, english

Tell that to the hundreds of thousands we had killed in Latin America, and to the millions that live in poverty due to our imposed hegemony. Tell that to the millions we killed in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, etc. (not to mention the destruction of their societies).

Regardless, any reduction in imperial violence is because of the raised consciousness of the Western public. Thanks to liberals, we are less destructive.

the Non-proliferation treaty today is the Magna Carta of the past. It is the world's only known tool against global chaos and anarchy.

Translated into English: the non-proliferation treaty is a device to keep the have-nots in their proper place. Saddam Hussein offered to give up his WMD if all other nations in the Middle East did the same. For some reason, the U.S. didn't like that idea.

By the way, did you miss all the non-proliferation treaties that Bush has canceled since he came into office?
