I agree with you George. I see the Iraq war as the opening door in a protracted and costly middle eastern political nightmare for the USA. Try Michener's "Caravans" for a good read on the area. Amazing how not much has changed. This is all about the big dog(USA) trying to gain a stronger foothold in the major oil assets left in the world. There are a billion Arabs, mostly Muslim, that won't react kindly to such an event; i.e. Palestinians. When all you've got is the bare earth you live on and a root of pride deep inside, it won't be that easy to move the players out. It is, after all, their home. I see POG climbing that great wall of worry. There will be pullbacks, but that's all they will be.
