I think he's right on.

I have to admit I'm glad most of my old friends are out of the military now. One is in Kuwait, and one of my coworkers is a moonlighting doctor who's in the Army, and will probably get shipped. I've got my fingers crossed for all our guys...

Re: Schedule
IMO you have hit upon the most likely sequence and schedule of events unless something unexpected occurs
Despite the fact that half the population does not really trust the Adminstration in all affairs, I do not believe that Mr Bush, Mr Powell, and Mr Rumsfeld would say we have have hard evidence without having it.
Nothing would hurt their careers and undermine their credibility so much as to say "Well, ah, the CIA has photos and info and convinced us they thought they saw something there, but it turns out it was a mistake. Sorry "
To date the actions of our Miilitary buildup has been to be entirely convincing to both the UN to be serious in their enforcement of existing resolutions and to Saddam to face facts
He is a cornered rat and will be looking for any device or loophole to permit non-compliance.
They have convinced me- 3 Carriers and 100000 troops in the region would have convinced me

They will have 5 carriers and also the British in the area. With arrangements to conduct air operations from at least 3 neighboring countries.
What intrigues me is how and when the hard evidence ( if needed to convince some UN members) will be released. We have to be ready to take out any sites immediately - airplanes overhead or the sites targeted with missiles before they have time to load gas in the empty shells, to launch hidden missiles at Israel, or to implement
any similar actions.
Another problem is how to get the inspection team out before the action starts. They have new vehicles and could head for the border but would be easy to stop. They are pretty brave to go into those filthy factories which housed unknown deady chemicals and unstable ammo. People worth saving.
I trust the assigned planners are doing their best in working these problems
