I don't think anyone posting on this thread has any qualms about deterring Al Qaeda threats. Can you please demonstrate any verifiable connections between Saddam and Al Qaeda? Is Bush's going after Saddam a distraction from failures to effectively catch the Al Qaeda's top brass?

I think a twofold front should be at the top priority:

1) Catching Al Qaeda operatives and ceasing its terrorist activities to the greatest extent possible. But I don't think taking down America's Constitution is a viable means of doing this.

2) Begin immmediately a worldwide dialogue, led by the United States, to determine why so many people hate our nation and to discover ways for improvement. I'd like to see us elect a president who is willing to die for his or her country, one who'd not hesitate to go into unfriendly lands in an effort to open such a dialogue. Heck, we can't even get Bush to visit Harlem or Watts--can we?
