I picked up on IDBE because of its nasal flu vaccine. In the US we are slow to approve. In Canada and other countries they move more swiftly. With the bio terroism threats---I am hopeful that the USA will start moving faster also. The Yahoo fans really like IDBE and do have some very knowledgeable people on their message board.

IMO most of the biotech and pharmac. development/research companies are very speculative. If they come up with a big winner or amass enough patents to assure a future profit then they will move.

Right now IDBE has the attention because of the Plague stuff and the flu vaccine.

ISIS is into something called antisense which ia a totally different way of thinking about targeting disease. They do have a lot of patents and do get money from pharmaceuticals for research. I picked up on ISIS almost 5 years ago when Worth Mag. had a major article on it----describing it as the next Microsoft(we have yet to see that happen).

I have bought and sold ISIS several times and do a lot of call option writing on what I own to make extra $ and not to lose the stock longterm. Just now one could buy at $7.00 and immediately write an options for $15. or $17.50 about 6 months out for a dollar or more. As noted if you are long on the stock you take in a little extra income and at the same time wait for the big move if it happens.

An aside, what areas are you interested in the market?
