DeBeers,Canada speaks

Diamond industry officials have said that with an additional third mine at Snap Lake, N.W.T., run by diamond giant De Beers, likely to start production in 2005, Canada will become the world's third-largest diamond producer, worth more than $1 billion (U.S.) a year and 17 per cent of the market after 2006".

John McConnell (DeBeers, Canada) says when asked;

Q, Will you have a second mine in Canada?

A, Yes. We have a project about 100KM east of Snap Lake (Kennady Lake) that will closely follow Snap. We're just waiting for the exploration reports.

It seems clear that DeBeers has already made up their minds about MPV's Kennady Lake project.

Yup and it is just getting going Red.Take a look at who the President is of RAL and then take a look and see who the President of ARAKIS Energy was before Talisman bought them out.They have drilled 4 wells in Egypt according to their news release and reported on one so far and the release says they are at 1500BOEPD with three more to report on soon.
Regardless they are also spudding the PEI play according to the news release after they meet with residents the week of Jan 20th so this is going to heat up for sure.Good Luck and good trading.
