But..... let's not think about Israel as a welfare nation. Let's think about Israel being an American military base, right in the middle of hordes of uncivilized and hostile neighbors. The Middle East is one of the most dangerous and backward areas in the world. It is good for America to have a friend AND a military base right in the middle of all of those crazy camel drivers.
