She went after Ann Coulter (if that's what you are suggesting). For the most part I am in the middle of road individual leaning a bit towards right in my political and idealogical leanings. And if I were the host instead of Katie Couric, Coulter would have gotten a much more tough line of questioning from me. (Isn't she the one who suggested go to Afghanistan, colonize it and convert all it's citizens to Christianity ?)

Fox caters only to conservative viewers, who all along did not have a network that exclusively catered to them, hence the growth in its ratings. I foresee that growth for some more times till it hits plateau when either the ratings go down or the Fox mellows down.

This however does not mean that mainstream networks and media are deliberatly left leaning. Any research involves forward looking expressions which tend to constantly challenge conventional (read conservative) beliefs. That's what makes them balanced and fair, and "left leaning".
