The differences in scandinavian and angloamerican folklore is actually very interesting. Many of the differences come from these latest 300-400 years with or without colonies, and maybe from the max-min of the temperatures?? Some say it goes way back to pagan 600-700 or even 1200 years ago, but in general there is a distinct difference in terms of Wizards. We finns in general point to general Shamanism and that it took 500 years to almost christianize us and only 50 years to undo it. However, still picking up the smarter parts of the north-variation of lutheranism, while no calvinism was allowed in our saunas, there are even signs that no Calvin or other underwear are allowed. (unhealthy when doing the ritual desinfiction, cleansing ritual, additionally smells bad if used) In general we are somewhere between the bear-wolf-reindeer and the rabbits, and enjoy a tent and sauna with the american first citizens. Ilmarinen Btw, that lord of the rings is actually a lousy copy of our stuff, was popular at that time, harry potter and Oz is somewhat strange.

Btw, from that russian side we got another blessing, I hope you to got it in USA too, besides that Ayn Rand, that the russian orthodox church is very carful when reading the news and the ceremonial words, not to put their own spin on it. Kind of really boring, for those who do not listen to the actual words, just to the spin. Ilmarinen On the other hand, doing the best with the sing and the song, makes for really good music, especially if the musician is really good, although the news are kind of nothing.
