You couldn't pay a good teacher what they are worth.

I agree with what you say. Unfortunately, teaching, like parenting, is sometimes a thankless task.

My kids' gradeschool teachers were fabulous. my kids are now in junior high and it seems to be e little more of a mix, even though for a teacher to keep track of 150 kids (6 classes a day times 30 per class) is a big task.
