Sarmad,
Mine too. When i first saw the intc release, stock was up and msft read bullish to me as well. No visibility perhaps, but they have learned to exist and make money in this difficult environment. I think the international news has put a valuation lid on this market. I hope that we can avoid a fall to new lows. Zeev has 950 naz as this years target now. Oh well. Mike

Or GE after adding $12B, or GM or Intel, etc....

you have to look at the balance sheet. these companies play so many games and have so many options outstanding you have to look at the balance sheet to see what's really happening.

take INTC for example.
biz.yahoo.com

their shareholders equity actually went down during the year.

or the most eggregious example, IBM.
biz.yahoo.com

they supposedly made $3.6 billion in 2002. but look at the balance sheet. their shareholders equity actually decreased by $850 million during the year.

in GE's press earnings release they didn't even include a balance sheet - I'm not going to go looking for it.

these companies are supremely expensive given their profit outlooks and lack of growth
