I hear your preference though I don't see an argument as to why the affirmative action discussion should be stopped, moved, or whatever.

My guess, however, is that your request is almost perfectly timed. We've all said our say, laid down whatever markers we wished, etc. There may be a little burst or two, dying embers in the fire kind of thing. But that's about it.

But the point of the exercise remains. Some of us, on occasion, will introduce off topic topics for debate. We've done it in the past; no doubt, we'll do it in the future.
