I wonder what the world would look like if the good guys never fought. However i dont wonder for long. But many good folks with their head in the sand are willing to take that chance with the Terrorists and the states that are/may support them. I am not. I was at the WTC on 9/11. Folks in NY appreciated the outpouring of love from the rest of the country. Still do. But what we dont appreciate is the outpouring of naivite. Even in NY the liberals, even some of those who lost someone on 9/11, continue to push for understanding of the enemy reasons for their attack. Perhaps it makes more sense if they can believe folks died, not at the hand of murderers but committed folks who have reasons to be pissed off at Big Bad USA. So they demonize Bush and Israel and forgive Saddam, and even bin Laden. I have heard it. If those folks were around in 1941 they would have forgiven the Japanese for pearl harbor and Hitler for the camps. Hell they would have believed the german propaganda that the camps were a nice place to live. After saddam is deposed and we get to see what he had stockpiled at the bottom of lakes or in foreign countries, these head in the sand folks will be exposed as fools. Mike PS I am not insulting folks here who have alternate policy views to contain saddam. I dont buy containment in the iraq scenario but recognize it could work for as long as inspectors are in iraq. You can bet saddam will expel these folks when the hot weather comes and then the race will be on again as saddam tries to do a kim jung il and with iraq at that stage there is no china, japan, SK or Russia to contain them along with us. It will be out of control then. I even suggested once that at that point, the US should cut a deal with saddam--Oil for recognition of his power over the region because one day it will be too late to fight him and our band of containment will fall back to iran, israel and turkey, perhaps egypt. Jordan, Syria, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia would be lost by then imo.
