OK, I can't keep quiet any longer, damn!

We almost certainly will find a reason to do something in Iraq. But let me tell you something....God has nothing to do with it. It is us as in US that will make the decision and it will happen no matter what the UN or anybody else says. And it could well be our downfall. Time will tell. Leave God out of it.

Slider, with you 100% - GW is going to go..

And frankly I think it's necessary. The liberals and Europeans would talk about IRAQ and its failure to comply with provision of their surrender in the first war and procrastinate till they were run over.... We all like to think talking about the threat long enough will result in its going away....It will not.....It's us vs. them... While we've grown up to believe that issues are really more shades of gray....when some group is blowing up your cities and killing your people and vows to do it some more, you eliminate them and their allies as soon as you can. OR they further disrupt your life and if you don't stop them somewhere they get stronger and eventually kill you....now what's it going to be....US or them...

One other option would be to write off Israel...say NO MORE....Arabs we're on your side..

HIghly unlikely....

Slider:

"If Bush Sr had gone into Iraq and removed Saddam - we wouldn't be facing the threat level we are and perhaps wouldn't have suffered Sept 11th.

The son is going to correct his fathers historic mistake - not a chance in hell he won't."

One often forgets the atmosphere and environment Bush Sr. was in and the difficulty he had obtaining Senate and House approval to evict the Iraqi from Kuwait. Bush Sr had to compromise and just evict the bastar*. He did not have authority to topple his regime and occupy Iraqi. Many forget the post Vietnam syndrome in congress and how they feared a backlash if the action went badly.

Bush Sr had to wait till the house and senate were in session to obtain blessing in early Jan. People forget they roasted his proverbial Nu*s on the fire before approving.

Bush Jr. was in better position with the election and forced the issue with Congress, Senate & UN.

Of course the other side forgets this point and conveniently blames the President. Part of the terroritory but remember who controlled the house and senate @ the time.

We go in its just a matter of how long it takes to be prepared to go. I figure we can start the bombing on the 28th but don't know how long for the troops to be ready.

"What do you think would be the criticism level toward the Bush Administration if we fail to go into Iraq and then suffer another Sept 11th level domestic terror event; let alone a bio, or dirty nuke event related to Al Quaida, or linked to Saddam ? Or, nukes being set off in key spots in the ME Oil Fields rocking the global economies ?"
I say what will you think of Bush after a Vietnam style conflict in Iraq and another huge Terrorist hit on U.S soil in retaliation?
Not if but when.
And most of the world will not have much sympathy.

Slider, I can't pass up your impassioned remarks with which I agree in spirit. I just have one problem and one question: Why is the US not going after enemy number one, prime sponsor and exporter of Wahabi Islam, their second biggest export product as admitted to the blond screamer Chris Matthews himself on Hard Ball by the ambassador prince whatthef**k to the USA...enemy number one? Saud Arabia
