That counterspin was well written, better than I could
do, however it didn't seem to point out that the
91 war was more the result of a winding down of the
cold war with Russia, and it was
arranged by power brokers on both
sides.
IN effect it was a Contest between Russia Air
Defense and our ability to penetrate it.
The Hawks on both sides had to see this.
Saddam was the patsy, baited in and
caught in the middle.

We didn't take him out because before we went in the
deal with the Ruskies was that it would be limited,
and had we took him out at that time
we could not have built any type of
relationship with the KBG.
