Re: Tell the Chinese: BEWARE OF PEOPLE WITH INTENTIONS.

As opposed to, say, people who have no principles? I find myself in the opposite camp from you. I see the race to ruin trade unionism as a race to the bottom. While labor and the environment suffer, an insufferable oligarchic elite is created. The disparity in rewards that is created augurs poorly for the future of the world. Resentments brew and everyone clearly sees how unfair the current regime of globalization happens to be.

With your unique skill set, you achieve personal success in this ruthlessly competitive arena, but you fail to realistically deal with the issues of basic social comity.

The world you endorse is one that I cannot see as being fair, just or stable. It is a world in which there are too few winners and vastly too many losers. The exploitation of competitive advantages such as lowered labor rates and environmental standards as represented by the example of Sao Paulo industry being curtailed for cheaper rate in Curitiba is emblematic of the despoilation of the planet for the sake of the greed of a rapacious oligarchy. I simply cannot agree that this is a sustainable and sensible course for humanity. It is merely a reckless race to the bottom, driven by a soulless and uncaring greed.
