3) Yeah. And give up their biggest customer. And face economic disaster and revolution at home. Don't bet on it. And just what is their plan if the US tells them to take their ultimatum and shove it and goes in anyway? 4) Well, yeah, they can do that as the bombs fall. But they won't. Once it becomes clear the US is coming in, they will come out. Saddam has not been faced with loss of power and no alternatives previously. I don't think you know what he will do in that situation. And getting "their business and trade" isn't one of the options he's being offered.
