Cruise ships are like a giant hotel that you can't get out of. We have four or five of them a day here in Juneau from May to September. They are impressive as a manmade moving object, but that's about all. I don't like being managed that much either. Cardboard horse races, buffets at midnight with food that is more to look at than eat, that sort of thing. You have the right idea with your 43 foot cat. Poet talks about the norwalk virus. I think it is not the ships that are the problem, but the crew.
