Among what if's that are not so iffy: I have been doing some research over the weekend on technical medical sites just out of curiosity. The new book by Foster, "Demon in the Freezer" which I have not read (he wrote "Hot Zone") based on actual events gave me the inclination to look into "super smallpox."
The mousepox virus can be engineered with the help of interleukin II, a cytokine that numbers among its members the interferons which we can use in treatment of MS, into a strain of mousepox against which vaccinations are useless as developed so far. Much to my surprise I find that it is not that difficult a task, a few thousand dollars and a strain of smallopox to start with. Any decent immunologist (by training, not scruples) should be able to come up with a goodly supply to sell to bin lardhead. Not a nice thought on a Sunday evening.

Mishedlo, good points.

The only one I think is of any importance is if extremists overrun Saudi Arabia - that would be disastrous to our way of life and the world economy.

Interesting that with all the war hawk banter going on you were the only one that replied to my post.
