I concur!

I also state that the SAP benchmark of doubling the 2GHz Xeon MP performance for a 1.6GHz Opteron would not ever be considered "a marginal improvement". And it gives some justification to (purely coincidental of course) the marketing bit "that doubling the bits, 32 bits to 64 bits, doubles the performance".

PS: Sort of like what the 386 did to the PC and workstation markets or like what happened when the Alpha burst onto the RISC server scene.

Hammer, Opteron,or Athlon 64... aren't they supposed to be out one year ago?
Not paying TOO MUCH attention (hype) to AMD anymore did save me a lot of investment money so far.
