TP, <This is a pretty standard technique in American business usually going under the name Goal Oriented Process.>

It's also a standard technique in American business to make the results look good without solving the real problems. Affirmative action is just that.

Ever read the book Seven Habits of Highly Effective People? Your arguments reflect that of the Personality Ethic, i.e. the habits of ineffective people. Style over substance, results over solution, personality over character. No wonder you treat this like a marketing exercise and ignore the real problems behing the non-proportional representation.

As long as the results look good, your guilty conscience is eased and you can say, "See? We're making up for centuries of racism and slavery." But then you'll continue to be baffled as minority dropout rates continue to soar above the average, and the cycle of poverty fails to be broken.
