You are probably right that it has limited applications and won't change the world. I have at my disposal cars, taxis, helicopters, aircraft, bicycles, buses, trains, skateboards, skates, scooters [push and moped], motorcycles and those machines that old people beetle around on. Yet very often I walk. I like to walk. Or run. Or at least hurry. I could use any of those machines. The Segway is expensive compared with comparable options, such as a bicycle, with which I could beat a Segway. It's wetter in the rain than a micro car, not to mention colder and would muss a lady's hair. So it has limited applications. That doesn't mean it's stupid. It just means that it's not going to sell to everyone. But there are lots of times I'd like to have one. Many times I've been tired, sick of walking, footsore and would LOVE to have a Segway [rather than a bicycle or any other of those transport modes]. I could pop it in the boot, park conveniently and cheaply somewhere and ride my Segway a kilometre or so to where I want to be. Especially if I had a sore knee or other physical incapacity, be it of a permanent or temporary nature. It's silly to think that something that has limited applications is stupid. I suppose it's the media 'hype' which was stupid and probably what irritated you, because you wasted your time and were 'conned' by a limited interest gadget being held out as some great world-changer when it's obviously NOT going to change the world much at all. Especially at $5000 or whatever it is, when a good bicycle costs $100. Mqurice
