I would prefer a flat tax and elimination of capital gains too- but that's not even on the table. I like food I can reach with my fork.

I really do think that the investor and the market in general will benefit more from eliminating dividend tax. It will curb speculation in unprofitable companies for one- and encourage investment in solid companies.

It will also encourage cash hoarding companies to pay out something to the shareholder. Something real, something concrete, and tax free too boot. That money will in turn be spent again- increasing money velocity. That's the real problem here- not money supply, but velocity.
