Only 8 days left. Membership Drive Competition Explained MDC Standings The Membership Drive Competition (MDC) is a cash-prize contest running until Midnight Eastern 1/31/2003. The purpose of this contest is to "get the word out" about Investors Hub and bring new members on board. For each new member who is referred to Investors Hub by you, you get points based on their membership level and number of posts, with most of the points based on membership level. For example, if you refer a new member who registers a free account, that counts for points. If their account is approved for more than 3 posts per day, that's worth more points. If they subscribe, that's worth a lot more points. And the more they post, the more points they're worth. Prizes Place Prize 1st $1,000 Cash 2nd $500 Cash 3rd $250 Cash 4th through 6th $100 Cash 7th through 10th $50 Cash In addition, the top 50 places will each get a free limited-edition "Taglines" t-shirt. Only 576 of these will be made. How Do I Enter? First, you need to know your account number here. Your account number is 0. Note: If the account number shows as zero, you are not logged in. You will need to log in then come back to this page. Once you have your account number, you have two different ways to use it. We should stress that neither of these will work if you use account number 0. You must have an account here and you must use that account number. 1. You can give the number 0 to someone you want to join iHub and tell them to enter it in the "referral number" field when they register a free account. 2. You can add "?refnum=0" or "&refnum=0" to any iHub URL you want someone to click. If the URL doesn't have a "?" in it already, use the "?" version. If it does already have a "?" in it, use the "&" version for your refnum. Rules Of course, there are rules and limitations. Here they are. This competition is open to everyone who has any kind of account here. In other words, if you've got a free account, you're still good to go. Only accounts created from 11/22/2002 to 1/31/2003 count toward your score. Suspended/Terminated accounts are worth zero points, no matter how much they posted. In case of a tie, scores will be calculated to two decimal places. If there is still a tie, Investors Hub will decide on a tie-breaker of our own choosing, such as the average post length of referred members. Using multiple accounts is grounds for disqualification from this competition. Abuses of the scoring system (for example, excessive frivolous posts or posts that don't contribute to discussions in our opinion) will result in removal of that member from your score. All decisions regarding this competition are made by Investors Hub and those decisions are final. Scoring Scores are calculated using the following factors: Your current membership level Referred members' membership levels Posts by referred members Membership Level Values Level Points Free/Unapproved 1 Free/Approved 2 Monthly Subscriber 5 Semi-Annual Subscriber 10 Annual Subscriber 15 Lifetime Subscriber* 20 Annual Ad-Free Only 4 * If your own account is grandfathered, 20 points are used for the portion of the score that uses your membership level. Posting volume of referred posters is taken into account by dividing their total posts by 100 then multiplying that number by the value of their membership level. The way this works out, if you refer someone and their account is approved by Matt, you get 1 point for every 50 posts they write. If they buy a Lifetime Subscription, you get 1 point for every 5 posts they write, retroactive to their first post. So, your account level, the number of people you introduce to the site, what kind of account they end up with, and their posting volume all add up to points for you.
