I can only speculate on the origins of the universe at this time. Based on probabilities more than absolutes I think that a primordial universe - the environment in which our universe developed - is quite unlike our own. As a minimum it would exist in more dimensions, it need not have gravity (which is just a manifestation of acceleration),

GREG: "As you know, I hold that a self existent, personal God is the cause of the universe"

As you know, Greg, as a devotee of Adi Da I subscribe to his teaching which is:

--there is NOTHING BUT RealGod(or the DIVINE PERSON)
--the universes (there are many) arise IN and OF God
--the universes arise out of an ununderstandable complex of
many forces but Real God is not the conscious creator of these universes
--everything everywhere is permeated by the Consciousness/light-energy of Real God
--we are separated from Real God by the self-contraction which is an activity, not an entity.
--if the activity of the self-contraction is eliminated, so also is the sense of separation.
--we can be completely lived by Real God and AS Real God

I lay this out just to clarify my vantage point. Maybe each of us on the thread would care to do the same so we could see the varying pictures to which we subscribe!

Namaste!
