In other cruel dictatorships, such as in Cuba, and even Iraq, the people can get something to eat, even if it is not much. In North Korea, the criminally insane leadership feasts while the people starve. The economy was hurt by at least the two following factors: The 9/11 attack against America, and the bubble market finally popping. I keep asking myself, why did the stock market go to such absurd levels under Clinton? Something went terribly wrong with our stock markets under Clinton, and the world is paying for it now.

I think even Ralph Nader would have went after the alQuida and taliban after 9/11, although I suspect also that there might not have been a 9/11 catastrophe had Bush not stolen the election. The mid-easterners could see more of the same in the second Bush.
