Just bought one of the reset tools from Peake on line.. it will reset oil change light , and maintenance check up light $49. ... I also paid an extra $100. for chart read out for check engine light... Figure best to find out why check engine light is on and get it fixed than go to dealer directly without knowing what the problem is with the car... I also have a neighbor who performs most maintenance on my car... Last time the check engine light went on it was low anti freeze.. the time before it was a bad alternator.
I may save some money with the tool and then may not.. However, I will know if the check engine light is serious to get into dealer right away .. or not. It will also give us a chance to correct the problem with paying huge dealer overhead..
