Concentrating force on the fly: This is what Rummy is trying to get the Military to do. The Marines adopted Boyd's ideas 20 years ago and will fight a "3rd Gen" war on the ground if possible. Rummy would replace Franks with a Marine if he could. Too late now. Cheney will back him up on this type of warfare, (He knew Boyd and used him in Gulf I) and that is why you see Rummy doing as much of it as he has. I have not been able to get my hands on "Path to Victory" yet. Not available locally. It lays out the type of tactics we are talking about, and why the Army is behind so much on this. "Booknotes" this Sunday features a discussion by the Author of "Boyd." They are advertising the subject matter incorrectly, but I expect the interview Brian Lamb conducts to be excellent.
