This has always sat ill with me. As I have always maintained, King is great and I think we should honor him as a nation. After all, the guy called America to be more American.

But Washington and Lincoln were great as well, both saved America in their respective ages. Washington, though flawed like the rest, was a man not only of great leadership ability, but he also had a personal philosophy I think many areas of which are worthy of national emulation.

Washington is dead, so his deserving of a day of remembrance is irrelevant. But I think we deserve, for our own good, a day to remember him, to reflect upon what made him him. (grin)

Yall should visit Mt. Vernon at least once. Walking around there gives you a little sense of the man. And with a man like Washington, even a little sense of the man is a lot.
