Well, I haven't read the book.

But reading the review of Pollack's book certainly doesn't show any compelling reason to invade Iraq, or more specifically to engage in urban combat in Baghdad, a city with 5.5 million citizens who've been armed by Saddam (and of whom didn't overthrow him once they got armed). Add in three to four hundred thousand Republican Guard troops and we're talkin' lotsa death--perhaps more than would result from any weapon of mass destruction except the ones within our own US arsenal.
