China Unicom awards CDMA deals to Huawei

China Unicom has awarded a contract to Huawei (China), equipment vendor, to supply CDMA infrastructure to Unicom units in six provinces, including, for the first time, Guangxi Unicom. Unicom has also ordered a Huawei home location register redundancy system for Shanghai Unicom. Huawei said that its CDMA solutions have been deployed in 18 of China's 33 provinces and in 14 countries, including Russia, Uzbekistan and Georgia.
