lol... well... give them some time, I too was unimpressed when I went there and had to go to a public bathroom and the only shitter there was was a canal were you simply squatted and ... well, push.. -g

But don't dismiss them that quickly...

eventually they will have purchasing power, it may take 10 or 15 years or more, but they will ....

As for the government being "communist" you would not think so when you see Shanghai... in short, they are just a bunch of tyrants in power... eventually there will have to be some sort of revolution to kick the arseholes out of power.. for now, ever so slowly, Chinese people are beginning to get a feel of "having things"

Right now, the rewards are more palpable in the cities, but eventually, progress will reach the "lack of indoor plumbing countryside" but the bug has been planted...

Think of this.... the Western US, say in 1850 was not exactly the diamond of civilization, yet it held a lot of promise.... and a lot of risk too...

Today, there is also the Internet and even as regulated and censored as it is in China... it is still a channel of communication....
