I don't see how you go from seeing people as individuals to supporting affirmative action by race but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your statement about your perspective is accurate even if it doesn't make any sense to me. My point of reference is not the color of a person's skin although I am not blind to the color, but rather do I like them [if I want to be friends], or do I think they will do a good job [if I am employing them to do some work]. However, I understand that there is a societal debt that needs to be paid for past wrongs......and I deal with that accordingly. Remember, I come from a place where I think the pie is as big as we want it and there is more than enough for everyone. Furthermore, I believe the more of us who are prosperous and well, the more prosperous and healthy the rest of us will be. ted
