John, it doesn't look like I can catch you in this contest, but if you can "catch a javelin", come on to Norfolk and give me a target to aim at. LOL I threw the javelin at the U of Idaho 35 years ago and just picked it up again last summer for a local senior contest. I had to win at state competition to be eligible for the National Olympics as well as for golf. Fortunately I missed the windmill and started off with a triple bogey on the first hole. (I was so relaxed about no chance to win that I ended up winning with a 79, which is also barely made the qualifying score for age group 55-59. I also qualified in the Discus and shot (and softball throw which is not featured at nationals) but I am too far out of competition to attempt the shot and probably won't do the discus either although I put it on my dream sheet registration that I sent in today.

They have the Senior Olympics competition every other year for seniors 50 and up. They also have a web page NSGA.com in case you want to know more. However, you have to be sponsored by a State to compete.
