Bush seems like a Cowboy who is shooting from the hip...

This is a time for patience and being thoughtful...I just heard Senator Hagel (R) on CNBC's Capital Report and he's a straight shooter who makes a heck of a lot of sense -- he is also strongly in favor of working closely with allies and other partners to resolve the big problems around the world...He feels its crucial to have significant support from overseas partners BEFORE we go into Iraq...Hagel also stated that North Korea is a bigger threat to our troops, to our allies and our country.

In the last 24 hours on public radio I heard an interview with a former top general -- he said war IS NOT inevitable yet and we can deploy lots of troops in the Middle East for a long period of time (obviously, he said its less than desirable and expensive BUT it easily can be done)...He felt that there may not be a decision on going to war for several months...we'll see.

I would feel A LOT more comfortable right now if we had someone like Colin Powell, Senator Hagel, or Senator Kerry as President -- they are all former war heroes who have been out in the trenches and have A GREAT APPRECIATION for what war is really like. They all seem to be very thoughtful and willing to emphasize diplomacy.
