The following partial release came out this evening. Migraines have been a puzzle since days of yore. If these scientist have in fact found the gene---then what---who would come out with the preventive or treatment for such. "MILAN (Reuters) - Two Italian scientists have discovered a gene linked to severe migraines, a finding they say could pave the way to banishing not only migraines but everyday headaches as well. Geneticist Giorgio Casari and neuroscientist Roberto Marconi of Milan's San Raffaele Institute spent four years screening the genetic makeup of six generations of a migraine-prone family and found they all had a gene in common. "We have discovered a new gene related to migraines and this opens a pathway ... to new therapeutic approaches," Casari told Reuters from his Milan office Tuesday. The research is set to be published online by journal Nature Genetics later Tuesday. -------" For people with migraines this is good news. Others including companies have been searching for this gene for sometime. As i understand, this gene controls the balance between sodium and potassium at the cellular level. With this having been found by the Italian Scientists are there any companies that will benefit. Likely it is too early to say. Am out of BSX----sold a little too soon but that's okay. mj
