Mars, I seem to be at a standstill when it comes to you. In a way, intellectual discussion of God, and our understanding of him is at odds. I understand the guilt layed on many by thoughtless men who egotistically thought that there way was the way to all knowledge and salvation.

I once thought that God had a big book and he wrote down everything that I did and judged me unless I accepted all of the traditions of the particular church that I belonged to.

I left the church but never quit believing in a God who created the universe that knew me personally. Because I believed I thought that that was enough for me.

I personally believe that God never intended for me to go to the ends of the earth reading differing doctrines of man until I could completely know what he expected of me. I sincerely believe that he wishes me to find him on a spiritual plane, through meditation and letting him make me more aware of his character. I seek him to the best of my ability in spirit and truth as he asks me to do.

To develop spiritual knowledge, you must throw away the intellectual mask that you use to hide from the realization of a multi-faceted God, who you will never understand completely on this plane of existence. You may know him well enough to gain his strength, well being and peace of mind. This, imo is enough for any of us to expect.

It is a worthwhile endeavor, I can promise you. The intellect is a self serving God who will keep you unaware of who he is and who you are.
