"The chairman's house was burglarised yesterday," Fed spokeswoman Michelle Smith said on Friday. "The Metropolitan police force is investigating but they have asked us not to provide any details that would impede their investigation." Greenspan, the world's most powerful central banker, lives at the residence with his wife Andrea Mitchell, who is a chief foreign affairs correspondent with NBC News. D.C. police spokesman Quintin Peterson said no one was home at the time of the burglary. He also said some items were taken, but was unable to provide any details.
