re, "Like Norton and several other companies AVG does have removal tools"

hold it right there. c'mon, you've looked around and seen what's there and what isn't there. be fair.

how about, "Like the United States and several other countries, Canada does have an army"?

say what you will about symantec, but when the virus chips are down, who you gonna call? avgviralert@lists.grisoft.cz? so you can wait around to see if they ever send you an email?

symantec has 37 tools right here ( securityresponse.symantec.com ), prominently displayed and available for immediate use to save your butt. there's an impressive arsenal of all AV weapons here securityresponse.symantec.com

grisoft, otoh, has a paragraph, somewhere on this page grisoft.com that doesn't say anything about removal tools, you just have to sort of believe that there are some there ... "AVG Virus Alert Network will bring you the latest information, the virus alerts, announcement of the latest AVG features through your email on regular basis and absolutely free of charge. Go to AVG Virus Alert Page to subscribe this service."

let's see, okay, i subscribed to avgviralert, i got a welcome email and a password, allowing me "only to access the web interface of AVG Virus Alert List" (a fairly uninspiring place though it be), and a promise that i will receive my serial number in another email." tap tap tap. now what?

meanwhile i'm being eaten alive by this VBS.Haptime virus or this W95.HybrisF virus or this W32.Kriz virus or this W32.Navidad virus.

will that email ever get here? what will it say? will it have the removal tools i need? man, my machine is a mess. somebody must have a list of AVG removal tools, somewhere. do you, tc?

i wish that email would get here.

i'm sticking with "every time an AVG user gets jammed up they run over to big daddy norton's house for one of his removal tools..."

:)
