2 pertinent gold comments from Rhona O'Connell --WGC this AM: One Germany, One India

Bundesbank President Welteke yesterday said that the does not believe that the dollar is too weak and that he sees
no need to support it.

Background News
The Indian press is reporting that the State Bank of India has cut its interest rate on gold deposits to 1.25% from 4%. The gold deposit scheme was launched in 1999 with a view to tempting members of the public to deposit their gold at the banks, but the strong preference for keeping it at home, especially in the form of high-grade jewellery, has meant that the scheme has had limited success.

Oh, and Lorne, to be perfectly accurate...
that would be a cold AND wet well digger's ass, right <vbg>

Thanks for the smiler.

Yeow, It's 0 degrees here in Boston and that's bad enough, without -40 and tending a wood furnace.

BTW, did you know that you don't have to say -40C. At -40, the scales meet: -40C = -40F
