There are other factors that the University values in it's applicants, including that they reflect the state population.

So, if a population contains, for example, 15% who did not graduate high school, you think those 15% should be admitted? If it contains 5% who don't have basic reading skills, you think these people should be in college? If it contains 7% who can't do 4th grade arithmetic, these people should be admitted?
