Gina,
We are in 1000 percent agreement.
Many folks who oppose the coming war in iraq do want us to be world policeman but not carry a gun unless the target is serbia who meets their definition of evil. Of course somehow, saddam and anyone else who is Moslem gets a free pass because of perceived US anti-islam policy. It makes no sense to me at all to give Moslem leaders a free pass on behaviour while making Milosevec the devil. Both Saddam and Slobadan do the same kind of things and Saddam has wmds. Can you imagine the uproar if Milosevec was about ready to go nuclear. Mike

Why would the Euro spend much money on armies ? They fought for a thousand year and feel it's your turn to keep the Barbarians at bay (Barbaria being the Arabian Desert).

But they wouldn't admit it. Why should they ? It would weaken their hand.
So before they have a Fast Forward Deployment Bit Panzer Divisionen Airlift Command Etc, they have to learn a common language. Even that hasn't been settled.
Why would the Latinoes accept English ?
How could they? Technically, it would take them 1.5 generation at least to learn, and they know that.

So, you be the cop.
And we Euros can complain that you are never there when needed.
