have mentioned the obvious more than once. There is nothing obvious about it. The population has many attributes. Some people just automaticaly focus on race. There is an implicit assumption here that race is not a predictor of ability. I don't believe there are good scientific studies to support this assumption. I would not allege that the difference is one that ought to be a factor, but following your logic white students ought to receive preferential treatment over Asians.
