If you were a terrorist looking for some help that did not look ME, the best place to recruit would be a demonstration against the Government. Go back to the '30s and '40s, in the heyday of Communist spying, and you will find that people were recruited at meetings of various types. I am not posting that people who go to these rallies are traitors. I am just saying that is how Terrorist tradecraft works. I think you are just too sensitive on this issue.
