Maybe blacks in Michigan don't want to go to that particular school. Who knows? It would seem that blacks wouldn't be applying if they didn't want to go to the school. it is discriminating against whites to take seats away from whites The elimination of a preference for whites, as shown by their presence in excess of their numbers in the population, is not the same as discriminating. You continuously gloss over the essential assumptions which are that if a race neutral policy were in place that there would not be large statistical imbalances in the race representation. That is the central fact, while any temporary process of remedy is secondary.
