Brian,

I am not defending Bin Laden. But you do not seem to have the slightest understanding or interest in how or why Islamic fundamentalism arose. I don't think it has much to do with Israel, except that Israel is a convenient common enemy to unite the disparate cultures within Islam. Rather, fundamentalism is a return to what are perceived as the roots and core values that are perceived as threatened by powerful western secular institutions such as Hollywood, the World Bank, etc.

There is only one reason parents send their kids to madrasas. They are free (even the uniforms and the books).
