How about offshore Florida? Wouldn't take as much time and money to produce as it would in Alaska.

I agree that we should drill for oil on our own land first, before getting it from "someone else's backyard" and increasing our dependency. And we should also work on refining alternative energy sources to conserve our precious oil supplies and reduce our oil addiction.
