Revenues up 57% year over year
Net Income up 76% year over year
Excluding QSI, revenues up 83 % year over year.

"We expect significant growth in China and India this year as China Unicom, Reliance Infocomm. . .and other operators introduce commercial CDMA 200 1X services."

In other words, the best is yet to come.

And our long wait is beginning to pay off.

Qualcomm first-quarter profit surges

SAN DIEGO (CBS.MW) -- Qualcomm, a maker of key wireless technology, said first-quarter profit from core operations jumped 83 percent on strong sales of chips and record licensing fees.

The company also boosted its second-quarter and full-year forecasts.

In the quarter ended Dec. 31, meanwhile, the company tallied net income of $241 million, or 30 cents a share. See news release.

Factoring out results from strategic investments, Qualcomm posted profit of $345 million, or 42 cents a share. That beat the 37-cent consensus of analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call.
