I guess I was distinguishing legitmate from spurious injury.

Obviously, somebody pushed for every law that exists. Presumably they had some reason to do so other than sheer spite.

But perceived injury and actual injury are very different things.

But your position is consistent with one who believes that the government should have the right to control any and every aspect of human life, and mine is consistent with someone who doesn't.
