They did OK. Last Q they were expecting Revenue to decline and they made 2¢. This Q they cut costs and managed to squeak out a profit of 1¢ on less revenue. They will continue to cut a few more costs but it won't lower their breakeven much since they won't have the holiday shutdown days and they want to return people to full pay and schedule... as they should.

Other significant info:

> expected revenue growth of maybe 10% AND
>they are taking market share in etch.
>CMP should also be released in June Quarter
>Expect more empty buildings in the Silicon Valley as they plan to outsource even more and consolidate facilities.

Guardedly optimistic is how I'd rate it. Last Q they KNEW that revenue would fall and it did. Now they expect it to go up some.

It seems I am not the only one that has noticed that Lam has been gaining market share and doing better, not worse than expected vs AMAT.
